The Testimonial was for many years loyal service to Hatfield Main by Arthur Jones. The home side took the lead aftr ten minutes when Lannargan netted. Twelve minutes later Richard Fidler equalized after the home keeper showed hesitation. Jimmy Moody replaced Paul Wharton at Inside Left after fifty-two minutes for Leeds. four minutes later there was a mass of substitutions with Budnick replacing Paul Pettinger in goal, Mel Sterland coming on for Jimmy Marks at Right Back and Mark Humphries at Left Back for Michael Hoyle. Ryan Nicholls and David Connor took the places of Robert Bowman and Jason Blunt in the wing half positions. Martin Littlewood, Gary Lynam, Ray Wallace, Steve Tobin and Jamie Forrester came on for Matthew Smithard, Mark Ford, Tony Grant, Jimmy Moody and Richard Fidler in the forwards. Jamie Forrester put Leeds in front just on the hour, Stephen Heath replaced Mel Sterland at Right Back with six minutes to go and Steve Tobin sealed the win with a strike from twenty yards just before the end.
